Kembla Grange Race 27/07/2023 -Kembla grange race – Kembla grange races
RACE.1. COMMENTS.
NICODEMUS (5) has found the maiden win elusive but it certainly hasn’t been without trying. Has been well supported in the market throughout his seven starts. Only has to hold his form to be very competitive again.
TEN DOWNING STREET (3) progressed nicely last start at Gosford when filling a minor placing. Drawn to get the gun run and gets some slight weight relied. Main danger.
PRINCE OF ARENDELL (7) looked to be nearing a win before struggling at the latest. Happy to forgive on best efforts. In the mix.
DEVON COUNTY (1) strips fitter third up and is worth considering.
RACE.2. COMMENTS.
ROCK GIRLS (10) impressed on debut when falling half-length shy of the winner at Canterbury. Sure to have come on from the experience. Leading player.
MAGIC (4) is the big watch on resumption. A Group 2 placegetter at two, the royally bred has only had one start as a gelding and it was in the G2 Hobartville Stakes. His best would win this.
RIVER TAMAR (9) resumes and has shown plenty of promise in her early career. Strips fitter for two solid trials in readiness and is drawn favourably. Serious threat.
HIGHLAND CATHEDRAL (8) also resumes and is worth some thought.
RACE.3. COMMENTS.
DENSAUR (7) was below his best when resuming at Moruya off a long break. Capable of much better and is sure to have come on with that run under his belt.
WINDMILL ROAD (2) is a Fiorente gelding stepping out on debut for Sara Ryan. Has shown promising signs in his lead-up work, scoring in her most recent trial. Drawn nicely and gets the leading hoop Aaron Bullock in the saddle. Bold showing anticipated.
SHAGGY BOY (4) has struggled to threaten the winner in his two starts but should appreciate stepping out the extra 200m. Strips fitter with the two runs under his belt. Ready to make an impact.
The resuming ESSENTIA (5) also holds claims, while GYPSY KING (9) can be thrown in for exotic players.
RACE.4. COMMENTS.
HOUSE OF CARDS (4) never looked likely on debut when settling a long way back on the Kenso but did managed to make good ground late to just miss the minor placings. Sure to have come on from the hit out and should be very hard to stop if he can take closer order this time.
MR CALEB (6) had absolutely no luck in his last start before heading to the paddock, going to the line without ever getting a fair crack at them at Eagle Farm. Strips fitter for two soft trials. Clearly shoulders his share of ability and will be making his presence felt.
SUPREME COMMAND (2) progressed nicely last start when missing by a nose last time at Gosford. Open to further improvement. In the mix.
SAROYAN (7) and NOBLE TESS (12) best of the rest.
RACE.5. COMMENTS.
SKYLIGHT SONG (3) continues to knock on the door but has just struggled to land the winning blow of late, finishing in the minors in his last three starts. Shoulders a handy record over this distance and is drawn to advantage. Another bold showing is anticipated.
C’MON MATE (2) followed up his maiden win first up with a sound chase into fourth at Wyong. Returns to the scene of the crime. Big chance again third up.
SLICKMAN (4) has caught the eye in his two runs back after finding himself a long way back in both. Drawn to go back again. Watch for him charging late.
KARAOKE KING (8) has hit the line firmly in his two runs back, most recently beaten a lip at Goulburn. Hasn’t won for a long time but gets another good chance to score.
RACE.6. COMMENTS.
PENNYPACKER (1) has been solid in his two runs back without saluting. Fitter again and should be nearing his peak now. Will take beating.
NAPOLEON SOLO (14) gave backers a great sight last start when showing good tactical speed at Moruya. Boasts a terrific record third up and should be able to offset the wide draw without too much concern. Can be in this for a long way.
OAKFIELD PRINCE (3) stuck on gamely into the placings last time out when resuming at Muswellbrook. Better for the run and is drawn to advantage with high striking hoop Aaron Bullock piloting. Among the key chances.
OBVIOUS STEP (4) next best.
RACE.7. COMMENTS.
ANNOUNCING (11) has chased gamely to the line in her two runs back, beaten under a length last start in a busy finish. Expected to head back from the wide alley and be saved for the final shot at them.
OBVIOUS STEP (15) made it two minor placings on the bounce last start when closing off solidly to the line at Wyong. Boasts a handy record over this journey and her best figures measure up nicely. Should run well again.
IMPACT STAR (7) stuck on soundly to the line last start at Newcastle. Draws to get the gun run this time and leading rider Aaron Bullock sticks. In the mix.
COBIA (6) and FANGELA (1) also make plenty of appeal.
RACE.8. COMMENTS.
CONDRIEU (13) caught punters’ eyes late when resuming last start at Newcastle, beaten just over a length in fourth after settling rearward. Strips fitter second up and is drawn to settle closer to the action this time. Leading player.
SATNESS (12) made light work of his rivals last time at Gosford when scoring with a bit up his sleeve. Stays over the winning trip and has run well at this venue without winning. One of the key chances.
Fellow last start winner MOORESTOWN (4) also warrants serious consideration after scoring in this grade at the latest. Carries more weight this time and is drawn sticky, so tread lightly.
NAUTICAL MISS (7) has struggled to make an impact in her last two starts but did show positive signs when narrowly beaten here three back. Willing to forgive on best efforts. DUKE OF GORDON (1) next best.
