RACE.1. COMMENTS.
WELCOME DREAM (11) produced some good late work to grab third on his debut at Doncaster. The Kevin Ryan trained son of Night Of Thunder will know more this time.
Dark Angel colt FIRE DEMON (3) has to be respected on debut representing leading connections. Ayr debut runner-up
APPELLANT (2) will likely improve given horses from this yard tend to need their initial outing.
KODIAC THRILLER (7) followed home a nice performer when second at Windsor first-time-out and must enter calculations with that run under his belt.
RACE.2. COMMENTS.
The participation of SOPRANO (10) looks unlikely given she ran at Sandown on Thursday.
SYMBOLOGY (11) made the perfect start to her career stretching clear to score debuting at York and the Clive Cox trained daughter of Havana Grey can remain unbeaten.
Debut winner PRETTY CRYSTAL (8) produced a fine effort finishing fifth in the G3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot on her second start and helps set the standard.
DAZZLING STAR (2) comfortably won a maiden at Newmarket (July). Could have more to give racing for Godolphin. Fellow last-start Newmarket (July) winner SACRED ANGEL (9) is respected under Ryan Moore.
RACE.3. COMMENTS.
AMEYNAH (1) clearly had problems as not seen for 454 days. Certainly interesting powerful connections have kept her in training and the Roger Varian trained filly was staying on in quite taking fashion when sixth attempting the G1 1000 Guineas at Newmarket that day. Could well prove better than this grade on her belated reappearance.
The consistent RANDOM HARVEST (2) drops back in class having finished sixth in the G1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket. Holds strong claims on her good second in the G2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot prior.
CADEAU BELLE (5) has to be considered as she bids to remain unbeaten following a Listed success over 1600m at Naas. THORNBROOK (9) might figure based on ratings alone.
RACE.4. COMMENTS.
A competitive renewal of this heritage handicap. It’s possible FRESH (9) can make it back-to-back wins in the race for team Fanshawe. He won this off 1.5kg lower last year and the dual course and distance winner ran the perfect prep race when fifth over 1200m here a month ago.
Soft ground will certainly help BIGGLES (3) who commands respect following his Bunbury Cup success at Newmarket (July).
Runner-up that day ROPEY GUEST (16) often goes well in big handicaps on straight tracks and could feature amongst the placings.
BARADAR (14) produced a fine effort to finish third attempting the Lincoln handicap on heavy ground at Doncaster during April and is in the mix. Others to note include both VAFORTINO (7) and STAR OF ORION (17).
RACE.5. COMMENTS.
HUKUM (4) is trained by Owen Burrows and maintains some high-class form on soft ground. His 4.25L success over last year’s winner PYLEDRIVER (7) in the 2022 G1 Coronation Cup looks solid.
The Epsom Derby one-two AUGUSTE RODIN (10) and KING OF STEEL (11) both re-oppose. The former has since followed up in the G1 Irish Derby and obviously commands respect for Aidan O’Brien while the latter subsequently impressed scoring over course and distance in the G2 King Edward VII Stakes and remains open to considerable improvement.
Revisiting 2400m will suit G1 Coral-Eclipse runner-up EMILY UPJOHN (9).
RACE.6. COMMENTS.
A fascinating contest with six of the ten defending an unbeaten record. Charlie Appleby won this last year with a classy performer and ANCIENT WISDOM (3) looks just that. The striking son of Dubawi made it two from two scoring over this distance on the July Course (Newmarket) a month ago. Set to remain undefeated completing a hat-trick. Impressive Sandown (1400m) debut winner
SUNWAY (10) is tough to ignore. ALYANAABI (2) created a nice impression getting off the mark first time out at Salisbury and commands notable respect.
Fellow debut winner ROSALLION (9) also impressed at Newbury and cannot be dismissed representing top connections.
RACE.7. COMMENTS.
AKHU NAJLA (5) returns to action. Disappointed when held delivering his handicap debut at Haydock 308 days ago. By no means disgraced finishing third attempting the Listed Heron Stakes at Sandown back in May last year and this son of Kingman still retains potential. Could prove much better than this mark in months gone by.
LATTAM (6) just prevailed attempting 1600m at Newcastle last month and will have no issue revisiting turf.
The unexposed LOWTON (10) is proven on soft ground and must be respected now up to 1600m on his handicap debut.
GHALY (2) cannot be left out of calculations.
RACE.8. COMMENTS.
THE BIG BOARD (9) landed three of her past four outings. The Richard Hannon trained filly won attempting course and distance two weeks ago and can defy a further rise in weights.
Fellow last-start track and trip winner RHYTHM N HOOVES (8) needs to be included maintaining an improving profile.
SIGNIFICANTLY (7) was fitted with cheekpieces for the first time winning over 1200m at Haydock earlier in the month. Remains well-treated on some of the form he displayed as a two-year-old. Comfortable Newmarket (July) (1000m) winner ISLE OF LISMORE (11) can remain competitive off this revised mark and DUSKY LORD (2) could be in contention.
