RACE.1. COMMENTS.
HAYDROSS (1) is steadily improving with racing and ran his best race this prep last time out when finishing a game third and just over a length from the winner. He gets the winkers back on and they may help him where it matters most.
AGRABAH (6) ran on fairly fresh up in his first start for the local Peter Fernie stable and they do improve quickly second up for him. He has a superior draw today and will also be suited by the step up to a mile. Each-way value today.
MORE LIKELY (3) is having his third start for the Robert Gulberti stable and ran on well enough as favourite last start to finish in the money again. He is a likely type that will improve as he strengthens up. Stick with him. Follow your money.
RULING MAJORITY (4) has improved at both his starts back from a spell and his fourth last time out for his new local trainer was his best effort yet. He will be peaking third up and is worth including in all combinations.
RACE.2. COMMENTS.
ELUSIVE DREAM (2) made his debut from the Peter Fernie stable last start and managed to run another third placing. He will improve with that outing and will find racing easier in the Country. He has an extra 100 metres to travel today and it should be his day in the sun.
SET FOR STARDOM (5) is the stablemate of the top selection and he has also switched from the Williams stable recently to find some easier opportunities. He has had a spell to mature and won’t be hard to place in the Country.
SO GOLDEN (9) went a couple of handy races in Town and should be suited to racing on this track. Each-way value.
SHOOTING KONTIKI (1) is another looking for a softer option after tackling some better fields recently. He draws the fence and can get a slice of this.
DARE ME (8) finished third here fresh up off a wide run three weeks ago and should improve further with that run under her belt. Stick with her.
RACE.3. COMMENTS.
GALAXY AFFAIR (1) won here by a head two back before being well beaten in the City in a tougher field. He is much better placed in this and with a weight that shouldn’t be too prohibitive he can make an immediate return to the winners’ circle.
BIRD’S THE WORD (3) had been battling prior to getting his confidence back here in his last couple of outings, including a brave win here a week ago. If this run hasn’t come too soon he should be hard to beat again.
YEMEN LASS (8) has the speed to lead early and after dropping out in a richer field at Belmont last time out she should be at her peak fitness fourth up. She will be the one to peg back today.
TIME SCALE (2) only blew out late fresh up for her new local trainer Peter Fernie and will only be better for that run. She is a handy performer on her day and can give this a shake.
RACE.4. COMMENTS.
MR SNIPS (1) was only claimed late after leading up here last start and franked his win fresh up here by three lengths. He has adapted nicely to his new surroundings and should go close to winning again.
LA PATRONA (5) did not take long to find winning form for the local Peter Fernie stable with a courageous win here a week ago. She is still on the up and can double up now that the penny has dropped.
THE BIG ONE (2) finally put it all together last start and broke through for a deserved maiden win and didn’t he do it in style, winning by over six lengths. He can now go on to better things. Stick with him.
LUCKY FOO FOO (7) is resuming and does have fresh-up form. She would have strengthened up over her recent spell and is worth including in all multiples at a price.
RACE.5. COMMENTS.
PENNIES GALORE (4) has been thereabouts recently and has travelled to the Country seeking a confidence boost. She should appreciate the return to a sprint trip and will take up a handy spot early from her suitable inside gate, making her hard to beat. On top.
TWELVE BELLS (3) is having his first run since arriving from Victoria and he looked ready to rumble at a recent trial on this track. The blinkers go on for the first time and he is worthy of serious consideration.
QUILLOW (5) made the most of a perfect William Pike ride when winning her maiden at Pinjarra three back. Her next two efforts weren’t quite so good and she has been shifted to the top local stable of Peter Fernie. If she is not in need of the hitout then she should be right in the finish.
FLOBA (1) has been freshened since a disappointing run last start after being an easy maiden winner before that. He is worth another chance today.
RACE.6. COMMENTS.
SEND ‘EM (6) has been kept busy since winning his maiden here back in May and hasn’t been far away since then. He was a beaten favourite here over this trip three weeks ago and has had a subtle gear change. He only needs some luck to be back in the winners’ circle. Follow your money.
DUKE IAM (2) finished ahead of the top selection last start after winning his maiden in style at his prior run. The blinkers have done the trick since being added and he can go one better today.
I AM KING (3) has turned a corner since shifting to the area and hasn’t missed a cheque for the Peter Fernie stable in three starts. He has a good draw and cannot be left out of any combinations.
TEMPEST MISS (9) hasn’t set the world on fire since shifting to the Paul Tapper stable this prep but she is open to improvement and maybe with the blinkers back on and with Zephen Johnston-Porter claiming three-kilos she can turn her form around. One more chance at value.
RACE.7. COMMENTS.
HONEST LEGEND (4) showed a lot of courage to hang on to win by a nose here last time out. He gets to stay in the same grade for this and the extra kilo and a half of weight shouldn’t be enough to stop him from going close to winning again.
TOTAL LOCKDOWN (7) won here two back in a similar field and then did not get all favours last time out a week ago. He is always a threat with the right run and is capable of taking this out.
LOVE DRUNK BABY (6) took them all the way here fresh up last month and then stuck to his task gamely off a wide run when finishing fourth last start. He has another tricky draw but if he can secure some early cover then he can have the last say. Watch closely.
HILTON (1) has battled to find his best this time in and may have needed all his four runs back from a spell as his fitness improves. He has a good draw and with Troy Turner in the irons, he will have no excuses. He is poised to put his hoof in the till. Can win.
RACE.8. COMMENTS.
LAUGHING BUDDHA (5) got the job done easily over the mile here last time out after being placed over this journey at his prior start. If this run hasn’t come too soon then he is the one to beat again.
POPCORN TENDER (2) ran on late after getting held up at a vital stage last start and it was also his first start in nearly four weeks so he can be expected to be improved by that effort. He is up to a more suitable journey today and could be the one to side with at a bit of each-way value.
SHOOT UR SHOT (3) showed what he is capable of when his mind is on the job when winning by a head here last start three weeks ago. Now that his confidence is up he is quite capable of winning again.
KAZKAZI (4) has been racing in tougher company this prep and should be suited to racing in the Country today. He has a good draw and should not be underestimated. Keep an eye on the markets for any positive market moves.
