RACE.1. COMMENTS.
LIEUTENANT DUNBAR (1) has placed 4/6 and resumed a 2-1 favourite beaten 2L without luck before the nose defeat at Belmont starting 6-4F. Parnham stays in the saddle and fitter he should be winning.
BORN AND BREAD (5) resumes and won’t have to be much improved to feature. She’s placed 2/2 fresh and races today with a handy 2kg claim and the tongue tie applied first time.
AUTHORATIVE (3) is in a leading barn and showed plenty at Albany in his brief initial preparation. Has the blinkers applied the first time and owns a Lark Hill trial win. Has a 2kg claim and the Albany form is often underestimated.
MY KRYPTONITE (2) is capable but hasn’t hit his straps for the new barn. He will use an inside gate and can stick on better.
SWEET ART PRO (9) debuts and placed at Belmont her latest trial. A betting watch.
RACE.2. COMMENTS.
LONESOME DOVE (6) led beaten 3L at Belmont before the spell and 4 winners came out of that. She raced very new and following two solid trials came back to racing in good order. Has a 2kg claim and some gear changes and this looks winnable if she’s on-song.
HE’S ARCHIE (1) is good enough and it’s a question of being prepared for the short sprint. The betting should provide a good indication.
GIGI’S CAPACHINO (7) led here first up and was nailed for a minor placing close to home. Has a 2kg claimer aboard today and fitter will take catching.
SAINT EADIE (5) resumed here with a narrow defeat and then didn’t have the best of it after before a plain effort at Pinjarra at long odds. She’s much better than that and draws low today with Chris Parnham a key jockey switch.
RACE.3. COMMENTS.
FULL OF MERIT (7) has placed 3/4 and before the spell was tried in Stakes grade over a middle distance. Resumed over 1400m and was claimed late. Fitter now and the mile should be right up her alley.
SILVER BACK JACK (6) was good on debut and then went down narrowly at Pinjarra in a blanket finish. Keeps the 2kg claim and won’t have to improve much to feature.
BULLS EYE PERFECT (1) was nudged out here second up enjoying the longer trip. Came with a strong run from well back and that’s the likely scenario today.
SECRECY (2) peaks off three city Maidens. He may show more at this distance.
RACE.4. COMMENTS.
MY AFFLICTION (3) found a place here second-up when expected to need it and posted a good relative figure. He will settle back and tackles a longer sprint. The 2kg claim is handy and he just has to see it right out.
RIVERITY (8) got too far back here off the wide gate but wasn’t far away her two before. Peaks and can find more on the 7-day return.
BIRTHDAY BALLOT (6) also presents fourth up and raced favourite here 2 weeks ago beaten 1.6L from the front. The outside barrier has to be managed today and that’s the negative.
PAT HAS SPOKEN (11) resumed in the same race at long odds beaten 3.5L. Should secure the run of the race and fitter will be around the mark.
RACE.5. COMMENTS.
WORK IN PROGRESS (2) is a leader who resumed with a narrow defeat here before folding up in the stretch at Belmont and may have got her tongue over the bit. The tongue tie is applied and Chris Parnham is a key jockey switch for the apprentice. Finds easier and has more to give.
CHARMING BELLE (9) is in a leading yard and can show more third-up. Comes back 200m but has city form that would see her competitive and she could surprise.
MAGNIFICENT CARAT (8) is also in good hands. She resumed improved winning the Maiden and then disappointed as favourite at Belmont. Has weight relief and can get some of the money.
NORICH (6) has been racing well without winning. He’s speedy and hasn’t been far away at Belmont his last two. Has a 2kg claim and will give a sight using the paint.
RACE.6. COMMENTS.
CABLE GUY (2) tries hard and was narrowly beaten here 2 weeks ago. This isn’t strong and he has the paint and handy 2kg claim.
Gets the nod over DANCE OF THE SOUTH (4) who comes out of the same race beaten a nose and building on the Open 3 win. She gives herself every chance and can bounce back.
GALARIAN (6) is hard to catch but has the ability and his effort here two-back stacks up. Raced against the pair above last time and was cruelled by the wide barrier.
CHOKSLAM (1) needed the first-up outing. May need one more but has decent form at this distance range and can fill a minor slot at a price.
RACE.7. COMMENTS.
FORTUNE’S LUCK (7) made it two wins from three this preparation delivering the CL3 at Pinjarra. The lightly raced improver is in a leading barn and on a 7-day return. She can repeat the dose with average luck from the outside barrier.
AGASSI (3) races forward and was nudged out twice at Pinjarra and then didn’t run on at Belmont over longer. This suits better and he can get back on track.
COUNT THE SESSIONS (8) tracked the leader in the same contest beaten 1.2L. Peaks today but drooping back to the sprint is a slight query.
MY FURY (1) draws low and brings strong city form. She’s been freshened for 54 days and is good on the fresh side.
RACE.8. COMMENTS.
SECRET IDENTITY (3) found Stakes grade a leap too far and then was quickly back on track spacing his rivals at Belmont over a mile. The Durrant-trained galloper is on an 8-day return and draws to advantage with a 2kg claimer aboard. He should be winning again.
ALBRIGHT (9) missed a nose in a Belmont CL1 and then raced favourite there following and was just okay. A leading rider stays with her and will give her every chance from an inside gate.
WITHOUT REG (1) has been knocking on the door in good company at Belmont and his figures stack up. A hope if things go his way from the wide barrier.
FIND YOUR MAN (4) capped a good run of form with the CL3 win at Belmont. He always gives them a start but given a good ride can’t be ruled out.
