RACE.1. COMMENTS.
SOLAR SYSTEM (3) is a Deep Field gelding stepping out on debut for the smart Waterhouse & Bott partnership. Is a half to a couple of above average types and has shown positive signs at the trials, scoring in his most recent. Blinkers applied and the booking of Tim Clark is another push for his chances. Bright start anticipated.
ROCKABILLY REBEL (7) stuck on soundly into the placings when resuming here two back but struggled to make an impact last start at Kembla Grange when sent out public elect. Strips fitter and should be nearing her peak.
GOLD BULLION (2) is another Waterhouse/Bott debutant. Has also shown some promise in his lead up work and too gets the blinkers applied. Warrants consideration.
FIRE STAR (1) is another Deep Field gelding ready to debut. Strips fitter for a pair of sharp trial wins. Drawn favourably and deserves plenty of thought.
GLEAMING (5) looks to have come on nicely during her break and is drawn to advantage. In the mix.
RACE.2. COMMENTS.
DEEP VOYAGE (2) is ticking along nicely in his debut prep and could easily be boasting more than the singular success. Up in the weights this time but rates highly on best figures and should take some beating.
THOUGHTFUL WOMAN (10) has turned into quite the bridesmaid this campaign, finishing in the top three in all four starts. Yet to shed the maiden tag but the booking of Tim Clark does read favourably. One of the key chances again.
MR LUKE (7) gets weight relief and is drawn low on the back of suffering narrow back-to-back defeats. Sure to be breaking through soon.
EARL OF DEVON (3) was far from his best last start when getting too far back. Is 1/1 at this venue and there’s no reason he can’t recapture winning form. INTERVENTIONIST (6) next best.
RACE.3. COMMENTS.
BEATLEMANIA (7) has found the maiden win elusive but continues to finish close to the winner. Strips fitter with the three runs under her belt and gets weight relief. Bold showing anticipated.
ZARROSE (6) was an eye-catcher on debut at Hawkesbury when working strongly to the line late. Sure to have come on from the experience and is drawn better. Key threat.
DECISIVE LASS (8) has stuck on gamely to the line in her two resuming efforts. Should be nearing peak now.
ZARA’S HOPE (4) chased soundly to the line last start when resuming off a long break at Gosford. Improvement to come.
RULE OF SALEX (2) is a U S Navy Flag gelding stepping out on debut for the Baker stable. Is a half to G1 place-getter Arrogant. Sticky alley to contest but recent trial suggests a positive showing can be anticipated.
RACE.4. COMMENTS.
SERAFIMA (11) has found it tough to break the ice but it certainly hasn’t been without trying. Possesses good early speed and is drawn to advantage. Will be in this for a long way.
HELL OF A SHOW (6) is a Hellbent colt stepping out on debut for Kristen Buchanan. Has shown plenty of promise in his lead up work, winning his first two before hitting the line firmly over the 800m at Gosford last time. Can take close order from the low gate and should prove tough to hold out.
HONGKONG HARMONY (1) had no right to be in the finish last start a Gosford when resuming off a 1112-day spell for Rodney Bailey. Sure to have taken improvement from the hit out and is drawn to get the gun run. Have to respect.
The resuming STAR MAGIC (3) also holds some appeal as he makes his stable debut for Nathan Doyle. Blinkers go on first time. Don’t take lightly. Any market support for debutants COCO DREAMING (4) and SHERBIES (5) should also be respected.
RACE.5. COMMENTS.
BOSTON ROCKS (4) returned with a bang when resuming at Gosford, scoring with a fair bit up his sleeve to shed the maiden tag. Progressive type that can go on with it.
SERENE NIC (7) closed her debut campaign in terrific fashion at Scone when lengthening nicely to chase down the leader and score, with a big gap back to third. Strips fitter for two soft trials in readiness and gets in very light at the weights with the 4kg claimer piloting. Will be making her presence felt.
SPICY HOTPOT (3) is yet to threaten this time in but has run into a couple of smart ones in her last two. Easier this time and steps out to a winning trip. Finds the right race to turn things around.
Can also entertain NOT THAT EASY (8) and DANCING CONNIE (5) on best efforts.
RACE.6. COMMENTS.
ALLHALLOWTIDE (2) hit the line firmly fresh when falling a head shy from the winner last start at Kembla Grange. Drawn to go back again but is sure to be charging late.
OAKFIELD REDGUM (8) failed to live up to her market support at the latest when finishing out of the placings. Willing to forgive on best efforts and she should get the cosy run from the inside barrier. Key chance.
REACH BEYOND (4) hasn’t won for a long time but did catch the eye two back when closing off strongly to the line at Gosford. Another who will be doing his best work late.
SURE STRATEGY (11) also warrants respect on best figures and DREAMDEEL (1) is expected to have progressed from her solid first up effort at Rosehill.
RACE.7. COMMENTS.
CHIPPER (3) has just lacked the killer instinct so far this time in, once again finishing in the placings here last start. Interesting to note that the blinkers go on first time. Could well prove the winning touch.
MR BINGO (5) showed good early toe last start at Hawkesbury and fought hard in the run home before conceding late. Reunites with 3kg claimer Anna Roper, who has saluted twice aboard. Big chance.
VEGAS RAIDER (1) is yet to threaten this time in but has run into some handy types. Easier assignment this time and is among the main hopes on best figures.
MOSHT UP (7) closed off nicely into the placings last start at Newcastle when beaten under a length. Has run well here without winning. In the mix.
RACE.8. COMMENTS.
CHAIN OF GOLD (3) was far from his best last start at Taree when sent out public elect but did have excuses. Shoulders a handy record over this journey and the booking of Jason Collett adds to the confidence.
Leading player. HIT THE TARGET (2) is yet to fire a shot this time in but has been tackling tougher company. Will appreciate the drop in grade and boasts a terrific record over this distance. Can turn things around.
GENDARMERIE (4) is another that will appreciate stepping back in grade, having contested in town in her last two. Also gets weight relief.
Well placed to play a major role. Last start winner PRINCESS AMIRA (5) also warrants consideration.
